Update

Thanks for the suggestions for Connor, here is what happened.

Well, on Saturday morning Connor asked for his blanket. I thought, oh no... but I just told him that he is a big boy now and doesn't need his blanket anymore. Then the tears started. I decided that he may need a little encouragement, so I said that since he is such a big boy and doesn't need his blanket anymore that we could go to the store and he could pick out a treat. At which point the tears immediately stopped... yay!! All weekend he talked about getting his "present" (we didn't even make it to the store till today, and he was surprisingly okay with that too) and never even mentioned the blanket again. He still hasn't even tried to suck his thumb, hopefully he never realizes that it is possible to suck his thumb without holding onto a silky edged blanket. We shall see:)

I did hide all of his back up blankets too (any blanket with silk on the edge), so I guess it's been the out of site out of mind thing. I really didn't think it would be this easy because he would ask for it all of the time. He would ask for it as we were leaving to go somewhere, so we would bring it with us in the car. When he wanted to watch something he would ask for his blanket and of course whenever he was tired he would curl up with it and suck his thumb and fall asleep. Scott has even made runs to the car in the middle of sacrament meeting for the blanket. Not having his blanket has made giving up naps easier for him too. He must have just been ready for this or I am sure it would not have been so easy. I'm so proud of him!! Good luck to all of you out there that still have little thumb suckers.

First Solids

Cambrie is 6 months old now, a whole half a year old!! I can't believe it, I really hope the next 6 months do not go as fast (especially since it will be summer). I thought it was time for her to try some rice cereal. She didn't really like it, but loved trying to get the spoon from me. Not too difficult of a task as I was trying to take pictures at the same time. Next time I'll have to have Scott feed her and I'll do video and more pics.

Her first bite, although I don't think she even swallowed anything.

She kept trying to take the spoon from me

I don't think she is a fan

I love her chubby little hands!!

I thought it would be fun to post pictures of the boys trying solid food too(I didn't realize they had the same bib on till I uploaded the pics, I should have put the same one on Cambrie)

Connor Loving Peas

Kaiden Eating Bananas

Kaiden also had his first soccer practice, here is a little collage I made.

On a side note, Connor has not sucked his thumb for over 48 hours!! Shhhhhhh, don't tell him because I don't even think he has realized it. He has always had a thing for his blanket (it's a fleece on with a silky edge) especially when he sleeps and whenever he has it he sucks his thumb. Well, I recently decided that his blanket would be a great thing to take away when he misbehaves (man I should have thought of that much sooner). The first few times he kept asking for it, and I would give it back to him the next day. Well, I had to take it away again on Wednesday and he has not asked for it since. He didn't even ask for it at bedtime!! I'm just hoping he never asks for it again, because if I give it back to him he'll probably just go back to sucking his thumb. What should I do, tell him he is a big boy now and doesn't need a blanket?? Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Easter

Hope everyone had a happy easter!! We managed to have fun even with a teething baby (Cambrie) and a sick boy (Connor). We even got a few pictures, they still count even though no one is looking at the camera and smiling at the same time right?

Oh, and Kaiden learned to ride his bike without training wheels. He is so proud!!

Connor

Connor turned three on April 2nd. Here are some of my favorite things about him...

-how he still says "I wanna hold ya"
-his dance moves... man I gotta get him on video, he is hilarious
-how he can be so scared and brave at the same time. The look on his face when you push him a little too high on the swing says sit all, but he is still saying "higher"
-how, sometimes, he is so content to just sit and cuddle with me
-how much he loves and looks up to his older brother. I think he would go anywhere and do just about anything as long as Kaiden was there
-how sweet he is to his baby sister
-how observant he is, even when you think he isn't paying any attention he is.
-the time he was about to jump off my bed and then said "that's not a great idea"

Here are a few pictures of him, we love you Connor!!
